And the verses I would like to focus on are Proverbs 24, verses three to four. Those verses say, "By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established. Through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. " Today let's take a tour of your house. You may live in a small apartment. You may live in what to you is a huge mansion. Let's take a tour of your house today. Let's take a look at its rare and beautiful treasures. These verses in Proverbs chapter 24 are not talking about the Van Gogh that I'm sure is hanging in your living room, or the statue sculpted by Michelangelo that I'm sure is out in your garden. No, these are much more valuable treasures. These are the treasures that come into your house through wisdom, through knowledge. Treasures like this. In the kitchen there's the treasure of the talk that you had with a friend that helped to turn her marriage around. That's the treasure of what God's wisdom can do in your house. Or out in the garage there is that conversation about the future that you had with your son, with your daughter, and now you're seeing them begin to live out some of those dreams. That's the treasure of God's wisdom. Around in the backyard, the time that you finally made up after the worst of arguments, and the only reason you did is because God gave you the strength to let go of your pride. Treasure of God's wisdom. If you're a parent, your kids' rooms are filled with these treasures. The many times that you prayed them to sleep, the books that you read, even if it was less times than you would have liked reading those books, the books that you did read, the talk that you had after that horrible day, maybe the time, the moment that they gave their heart to the Lord. If you're single and feel like, well, my house is empty of treasures because there aren't any people in my house on a day-to-day basis, think of the treasure of those devotional times that you've had with God. Trusting Him even when you feel alone. Trusting Him instead of trusting in the things the world's challenging you to trust in. Think of the conversations you've had with friends on the phone in your home and the treasure of the wisdom that you've been able to share. If you're feeling like I'm getting older and my home is a place where maybe the treasures have all gone elsewhere, think of the year after year after year of wisdom after wisdom that you have shared and the difference that that has made in people's lives. And if you're young and you feel like I'm just getting started, there aren't any treasures in the house yet, there aren't any of those kinds of conversations that you've talked about, well, you can start filling that house with treasures today. You can make a decision to have the right kind of phone call, the right kind of conversation to act in the right way, make the right kind of choice. When you make a choice for wisdom, by wisdom a house is built. This is not just talking about your physical house, talking about your life. Through understanding it's established, through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. And we all know that this is true, that it's wisdom that's the greatest treasures in life. But every once in a while it's good just to take some time to remember, to really remember that the greatest treasures are not in our things. So today, take a walk through your house, your physical house, and look for the treasures that are there. Let's begin that walk in prayer right now. Lord, help us to see with spiritual eyes. Not just to see the physical things that are in our lives, and you may have given some physical blessings and we're grateful for those, but help us to see the true treasures that are part of our life. To understand, God, what you have worked, what you've woven into our hearts, our lives, our families through your wisdom, through your wisdom applied in my own heart, and your wisdom shared. Thank you for the, thank you for the treasure of who you are, and for the treasure of what that means in my life. In this moment I am, I am filled with joy because of what you have done. In your name, Jesus, I pray, amen.
