into your life, an investment into diligently seeking God's truth.

If you've ever lost something that was of incredible value to you, you are on to
the meaning of this verse. These words diligently seek me. They have the idea of
searching for something like you've never searched for anything before.

It's like your family is walking through Los Angeles Airport in the crush of the
crowd. All of a sudden, your six-year-old was missing. You wouldn't say, "Oh,
let's go ahead and make our flight.

She's got it figured out. She'll catch up with us in Chicago. " Of course not.

You would spend every ounce of your energy trying to find your child. Nothing
would be more important. You would change every plan in order to find your
child.

God says, "I want you to diligently seek me. Pursue my wisdom with that kind of
diligence. " And Proverbs 8 powerfully pictures the fact that wisdom is
available, but it's not automatic.

It must be loved. It must be sought. As I read these verses one time in my
personal devotional life, I wrote down this prayer.

"Lord, forgive me for those times when I think I will automatically have wisdom.
And give me the heart to cry out for wisdom. Give me the energy to search for
your wisdom.

Give me the faith to see that true wisdom is found in you. " As we pray together
today, I'd like to pray that together we would see how God can give us the
strength to diligently seek him. Our Father, we pray together that instead of
trying to find the energy in ourselves to diligently seek you, to work it up in
some process of commitment that just comes from us and our energy, that we would
lean into your love and we recognize that it is through your relationship with
us in Jesus Christ that we find the strength to seek you in this kind of way.

And I pray that as we lean on your love, that God, you would forgive us for
those times when we think we will automatically have wisdom and you would give
us a heart to cry out for wisdom and an energy to search for it, and a faith to
see that true wisdom is to be found in you. Today, Lord, today, help us just
take the time as we are right now as we listen to your word to diligently seek
you and help that to become a daily habit in our lives. We pray this in Jesus'
name, amen.
